Certified School Nurse (CSN)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Certified School Nurse (CSN) to join a school district in the Slatington, PA area for a full-time, Monday–Friday role starting in January. The CSN will support the health and safety of students by providing direct nursing care, managing health plans, performing screenings, and collaborating with staff, families, and administration.

Schedule:

• Full-Time (est. 37.5 hours/week)

• Monday–Friday

• Standard school hours (typically 7:30/8:00 AM – 3:00/3:30 PM)

• Start Date: January 2026 or sooner if available

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide daily direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response to students and staff

• Develop, update, and implement Individualized Healthcare Plans (IHPs) and support 504/IEP teams

• Administer medications and treatments in accordance with district policies and physician orders

• Conduct state-required health screenings (vision, hearing, height/weight, scoliosis, etc.)

• Maintain accurate documentation, health records, and immunization compliance

• Communicate regularly with parents/guardians regarding student health needs

• Collaborate with teachers, counselors, and administrators to support student well-being

• Identify and manage communicable diseases and implement appropriate protocols

• Support district-wide health initiatives and promote safe, healthy school environments

Qualifications:

• Pennsylvania Certified School Nurse (CSN) credential required

• Active PA Registered Nurse (RN) license

• Current PA clearances (FBI, Child Abuse, State Police)

• CPR/BLS certification

• Experience in pediatric, school, or community health nursing preferred

• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills
